After suspecting that their police officer neighbor is a serial killer, a group of teenage friends spend their summer spying on him and gathering evidence, but as they get closer to discovering the truth, things get dangerous.

It's Halloween - the last night of high school for Corey, Jango and their skater gang, The Gromits.

Childhood is over and adult life beckons. But for Corey, his past has some unfinished business. When he encounters Jonah, a former childhood friend but now victimized by Jango's cruel streak, Corey takes pity on him and agrees to walk him home for old time's sake.

There aren't many films from Australia I haven't liked and this is definitely one of them. Superb acting from virtually all the cast and well filmed, so well filmed I would never have guessed it was Australia.

I figured out what it was all about quite early on but the story was still fascinatingly surreal and drew you into its mystery and the characters themselves; the angst of youth and the tribulations we all had to go through when we were young and in that way it will probably appeal more to older folks,.

Its not for everyone but if you are looking for horror or lots of action and cgi then its not for you - if you want to have your brain tweaked and your senses stretched then its one for you.

I was determined to power through it, but simply couldn't finish it. And that never happens to me I was profoundly disappointed.

Oh gawd! I didn't like anything about the book. I've always liked her music and James Taylor's, too, but after reading this, my feelings for the two of them went to zero.

What terrible lives they led. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Wonderfully written memoir of her life from childhood to her divorce from James Taylor.

I read it in one sitting and have to say at the end of it felt quite sorry for her despite her talent, wealth and star studded life.

Many reviewers, especially men, I note, have made much of the number of partners she has had but do not condemn Taylor for his having girlfriends and needing to visit a "clap clinic" despite his being a married man with children.

I think it's also important to factor in her childhood abuse that will have left her with confused boundaries and the fact both she and J.

T lived were young and lived their youth in the sexually revolution begun by the introduction of the Pill in the 60s.

In addition to this both spent long times away from one another whilst touring and we're subject to more sexually and drug temptation than most of us will ever know.

T has talked about his drug addiction, his drinking and episodes of mental illness which cannot have been easy to live with and Carly here documents her own struggles with depression and anxiety.

It's a brave and honest book and yes, she does seem to regard J. T as the love of her life, but he's the father of her children and the man she'd hoped to spend her life with, and what's so wrong with that?

Great book and I'd recommend anyone interested in Carly or J. T to read it. I just hope there's another volume to follow.

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. She is in a better place now, to be able to write with such frankness.

Carly Simon, daughter of publishing giant Richard Simon, had a surprisingly complicated childhood with a distant father who clearly favoured her siblings and an adulterous mother with a scandalously young lover.

Packed with gossip and juicy insights into a catalogue of music luminaries, the book reveals a woman who struggled with emotional baggage from her privileged but rather unhappy childhood and, in spite of a reluctance to perform, crafted a life in the spotlight as one of the biggest singing stars of the s.

Carly Simon is not just a spoiled little rich girl who got lucky - she's wrestled with big demons and writes with forthright honesty about the sadness of her childhood, her difficult relationships with men, her drug-addicted husband and her fascinating path to stardom.

I've just finished this and was hugely impressed with Carly's writing. It spans her life until the time she and James Taylor break up.

It paints vivid pictures of her life and environment; on one hand her childhood was the stuff of privilege and delight, on the other, a seed bed of anxiety, sadness and challenge.

Her mother's relationship with a younger man and its effect on the family was shocking and tragic in its consequences.

It made me smile to read the names of famous musicians and celebrities scattered among her prose - what a time to be a musician.

I felt her deep sadness at the breakup with James Taylor; I did wonder how much she's recovered from it, as I felt her writing had a haunting emotional quality to it.

This is a very honest memoir that's beautifully written and is well worth a read. Wow, what a brave book! Carly Simon tellsus just what it is like to have to cope with unbearable stress and trauma; you wonder how she survived it and carried on so successfully.

She emerges from the pages as someone who is amazingly open and generous, but above all a vulnerable human being. Yet, her experiences do, in many ways, mirror those of so many struggling to make sense of their life and trying to find the key to happiness and fulfilment.

She is an evocative writer and can keep the narrative going in such a commanding way that the book is very hard to put down.

For me it will need a re-read as it is so dense in the experiences it introduces us to. Having read it you really do care about Carly and hope that she can find the peace, happiness and self reassurance that she seeks.

Thanks for sharing Carly. Load more international reviews. Carly Simon can write really well. This is a quality autobiography that gives you an insight into her and her frank 'confessions' are written with such style, it elevates it above celebrity gossip columns.

My only slight gripe is she seems a little in awe and is too flattering to some of the men she has had brief encounters with.

Her description of Kris Kristoferson made me cringe a bit. She gushes in swooning admiration. Having said that, it doesn't take away the fact that this is a 5 star rating because the sheer quality of her writing supercedes such minor criticisms.

I've just also read Carole King's autobiography "Natural Woman" which is also fascinating, but what stood out for me was the quality of writing.

Whereas Carly Simon wrote her own lyrics from the beginning, Carole King started as a tune-smith with her husband Gerry Goffin as her lyricist.

Carole's writing is a little perfunctory, whereas Carly's leaps off the page - she majored in English and this shows, but both are brilliant books on their own ways.

One person found this helpful. Unreconstructed autobiography from a real talent and witness to history. A real life love story surging through the stylish chaos of the s and s.

Nobody does it better. Love the way Carly writes, full of good stories, although I would have expected more to be made of the success of "You're so vain" and her Bond theme, which seemed very successful, but is barely touched on,probably because of the preoccupation with James Taylor, but still a good interesting read.

Poignant, revealing, well written. Have always loved her songs but didn't know all that much about her. Fascinating behind the scenes as it were of some heady days.

A great read for those of us who are her contemporaries. If you like the music and remember those days, read it.

I'm half way through this book and really enjoying it. Carly Simon writes beautifully. She's also candid, honest, funny and entertaining.

Don't hesitate to read this book - you'll love it. Carly is an icon of my youth and this memoir helps me understand her tortured soul.

Want a book to get lost in? Then pick this up and let the time fly by. Honest, open, memorizing! Carly Simon has long been a favourite of mine, but even more so now!

Great entertaining read from Carly tells a great story of her privileged upbringing but complex family life which led to future sexual conquests with a number of rock gods.

And she wrote Your so vain. Highly recommended. A good read with a no holes barred memoir of her life to- date.

Again, maybe this can all be laid at the feet of poor parenting of her as a child. There is great value in this woman as a mother. She obviously lives and breathes for her children, doing so when they were young and now that they are grown.

Watching interviews with the three of them, one gets the impression that it is clearly mutual, their love for one another.

Her talent and ability to write, not just song, but this book reveals the depth of her creativity. I enjoyed her writing style but had to ponder the nuances of it.

She has a voice that doesn't quit, musically-speaking. You never hear her even come close to being "off". I found this all, as I have said before, just so sad.

This is by no means a six-hour read about who bedded her and who was "so vain". It's way, way deeper than that.

As a lifelong fan of Carly Simon, I was so looking forward to this book! But, alas - it was so slow, so boring, so long on excruciating minutiae and short on interesting information.

It simply failed to hold my attention. Her ability to recall minute detail is amazing Carly Simon has led an extraordinary and privileged life.
